Beginner Yoga 101

Start with a strong foundation in yoga!

It can be nerve-wracking to put yourself out there and learn something new. We get it. We’re here to help and to take the pressure off. Our approach is why so many people who never thought yoga was for them end up loving yoga and using it to help them thrive.

Knowing some simple basics can change yoga from being mysterious and overwhelming to friendly and welcoming.

Classes will be in a workshop format, allowing students to ask questions throughout class. During this series, we will also provide modifications that students can use as they grow their abilities.

The Beginner's Series Meets You Where You Are

​In the Beginner’s Series, we’ll break down the 30 most common yoga poses beginners are likely to see, practice breathwork (pranayama), and meditation. We also teach you how to modify yoga poses to work for your body so you can practice in a safe, relaxed, and, yes, joyful manner.

What To Know Before Joining Class:

  • Wear comfortable clothes in which you can easily move.

  • We recommend joining class on an empty stomach. If hunger is an issue, a light snack before class can help.

  • Bring your own yoga mat to class. We also recommend bringing a yoga blanket or beach towel to each class. We have loaner yoga blocks, bolsters, and straps for shared use.

  • Please register early as space is limited to 4 students and the class will fill up. ​


​In-Studio Beginners Series Schedule & Registration

The Beginners Yoga series is offered on Saturdays from 10:30 am-11:45. See the website for series dates & registration links. Pre-registration is required, and space is available on a first come, first served basis. This class will fill up and we recommend registering a minimum of 48 hours prior to the start of the session to secure your space. If you plan to attend with another person, the other person will need to create their own account to sign up for the series (an individual email login and password separate from yours).

We do not allow students to drop into any of our classes. If you miss the first week of the series, you can still join on Week 2 if space allows but must pay the total course fee. Please email us at wanderlustprofessoryoga@gmail.com if you plan to join late. The 4-week series is $55 and there are no refunds, credits, or transfers/make-up classes for individual classes in the series. If you need to cancel your registration for the entire series, you must provide 24-hours’ notice before the 1st class in the series. No refunds will be issued after the series begins.
